On April 26, 2008, people from across the nation met together in different locations to come together to pray for the nation, for our church body, and for ourselves. The purpose: to drop the differences that set us all apart and come together in unity and repent from the wrongs we have done on a personal level, on a church level, and on a national level. This was meant to be a cross cultural and cross denominational day of prayer. At 3 pm Pacific time there was a broadcasting of the main meeting in Washington, D.C., and as a body of people across the nation, we took part in worship and prayer together.

GodTV to Broadcast from D.C. on 4.26.08
GodTV (DirecTV satellite channel 365) broadcast the ReignDown USA event live from Washington, D.C. on April 26. This allowed the broadest possible coverage so that the entire Body of Christ could unite simultaneously in worship and prayer for ourselves and our nation. GodTV also streamed the broadcast live on its
God Tv web site.

This event is about the power of prayer while also being united…(“For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them.”~ Matthew 18:20)
This event is about the positioning of our hearts towards the Author of our faith… (“Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.” ~ Hebrews 12:2)
It is about a hope in the Salvation of our Nation. Its not about what is found on the outside, but rather, what we allow Christ to change and heal on the inside of out souls.

This opportunity exists because we live in a fairly free country. We should take every opportunity to praise and glorify God by identifying our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. This will create moments in time when unbelievers will question this whole God/Jesus thing and the Holy Spirit can do its work of conviction. I am very happy that we are able to be a part of this National effort to pray for our nation’s leaders, both federal and local. It also gives us an opportunity to consider our own need for repentance.
